Top Golden Knights News

  • Golden Knights' Keegan Kolesar: Plucks apple in win

Kolesar notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

The helper was Kolesar's first point in 10 games in December. He was limited to two assists over 14 outings in November and has generally struggled all year to generate offense from the fourth line. The 28-year-old is at a total of five helpers, 30 shots on net, 104 hits, 22 blocked shots, 21 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 35 appearances. The toughness is always there, but Kolesar's lack of offense gives him little appeal in fantasy.

  • Golden Knights' Brandon Saad: Pockets assist in win

Saad notched an assist in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Saad was one of 13 Vegas skaters to get on the scoresheet. The helper ended a 14-game point drought for the winger, who was also scratched three times in that span. He took the spot of Cole Reinhardt for this contest, but Saad is far from a lock to play every game moving forward. With just five points, 51 shots on net, 14 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 32 appearances this season, Saad's struggled and is unlikely to work his way out of a bottom-six spot.

  • Golden Knights' Kaedan Korczak: Provides pair of assists

Korczak recorded two assists in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Korczak earned his first multi-point effort of the season Tuesday. He helped out on goals by Mark Stone and Reilly Smith. The defenseman is warming up on offense with a goal and four helpers over his last seven outings, and he should continue to be in a position to succeed throughout Shea Theodore's (upper body) absence. Korczak has eight points, 29 shots on net, 53 hits, 55 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating across 35 appearances.

  • Golden Knights' Braeden Bowman: Registers two assists in win

Bowman logged two assists and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

This was his second multi-point effort in December, though Bowman has now gone nine games without a goal. His role has shrunk since the Golden Knights got healthier on the wing, and he's slipped down the lineup while the team struggles with injuries to centers. Bowman has still done enough -- and been consistent enough -- to hold a spot in the lineup. He's now at 13 points, 32 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 20 appearances. Among all rookies with at least 10 points this year, Bowman has the fewest games played, and his 0.65 points per game ranks tied for fourth among first-year players.

  • Golden Knights' Ivan Barbashev: Posts pair of helpers

Barbashev logged two assists and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Barbashev snapped a four-game point drought with the effort. The 30-year-old continues to play on the top line, though he was afforded some rest in this blowout win, logging a team-low 11:34 of ice time. He's at 11 goals, 16 helpers, 55 shots on net, 52 hits and a plus-5 rating over 35 appearances. Despite running thin at center in the absences of Jack Eichel (lower body) and William Karlsson (lower body), Barbashev has lined up at center just once this month, with the Golden Knights instead opting to give Mitch Marner a longer look down the middle. Barbashev played center on occasion during his time with the Blues, but he's rarely done so since joining the Golden Knights during 2022-23.

  • Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Earns two helpers in win

Dorofeyev registered two assists, including one on the power play, and fired five shots on net in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Dorofeyev took a break from scoring to do some playmaking, factoring on goals by Mitch Marner and Tomas Hertl in the first period. The 25-year-old Dorofeyev came away with his first multi-point effort since Nov. 15 versus the Blues. The winger is at 15 goals, 10 assists, 15 power-play points, 98 shots on net and a minus-8 rating over 35 appearances this season. He's on track to top his 52-point total from the 2024-25 regular season, though he may fall short of matching his 35 goals from last year.

  • Golden Knights' Colton Sissons: Tallies in blowout win

Sissons scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Sissons had gone seven games without a point, and he missed two contests due to an illness in that span. The 32-year-old has struggled to make much of an impact on offense from the fourth line this year, and the Golden Knights have shown little willingness to move him up in the lineup. He's at two goals, four points, 30 shots on net, 45 hits and a minus-6 rating over 31 appearances. He's still valued for his defensive work, but he is unlikely to be a factor in most fantasy formats.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: Finds twine in win

Howden scored a goal and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Howden ended a six-game slump when he opened the scoring just 1:46 into the contest. That set the tone for a five-goal first period for the Golden Knights in this blowout win. Howden is up to six goals, 10 points, 36 shots on net, 55 hits and a minus-1 rating over 31 appearances this season. While regression has hit him hard this year, the 27-year-old is in no danger of losing his place in the lineup while both Jack Eichel (lower body) and William Karlsson (lower body) are out, as Vegas has had to dig deep to maintain its center depth.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Buries goal in Tuesday's win

Hertl scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Hertl has three goals and an assist over three outings against his former team this season. The 32-year-old is on a four-game point streak (two goals, four assists). He's up to 15 goals, 28 points, 100 shots on net, 44 hits and a minus-7 rating through 35 appearances. Hertl's functioning as the Golden Knights' de facto top center while Jack Eichel (lower body) is out, though Mitch Marner has lined up as the center on the top line despite limited usage on faceoffs.

  • Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Pair of points in big win

Stone scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

This was Stone's second multi-point effort in the last three games. The 33-year-old winger stretched the Golden Knights' lead to 5-0 in the first period and set up Mitch Marner's third-period tally. Stone is now at eight goals, 29 points, 49 shots on net and a plus-7 rating in just 19 outings this season. He's a lock for top-six minutes as long as he can stay healthy.

  • Golden Knights' Reilly Smith: One of each Tuesday

Smith scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

This was Smith's first multi-point effort since Nov. 15. The 34-year-old winger has three points over his last three games, which should be enough to help him stay in the lineup as the team deals with some injuries. For the season, Smith has five goals, four helpers, 36 shots on net and a minus-4 rating through 32 appearances.

  • Golden Knights' Mitch Marner: Pots pair in blowout win

Marner scored twice on five shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Marner had a power-play goal in the first period and an even-strength tally in the third. The Golden Knights also had him at center for a second game in a row, but he won just one of seven faceoffs, so it seems like that experiment will end when the team's center depth is less burdened by injuries. Marner is at least helping to keep the offense afloat with three goals and six helpers over his last five games. He's up to nine goals, 38 points (11 on the power play), 67 shots on net and a plus-10 rating through 35 appearances.

  • Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Cruises to fourth win

Hart stopped 21 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Sharks.

Hart was spotted a five-goal lead after the first period, making this a fairly easy win even after he allowed a tally in each of the last two frames. He had lost his last two outings, but he appears to be the Golden Knights' preferred No. 1 in goal for now, starting two of every three games since Dec. 7. He's at a 4-1-2 record with a 2.48 GAA and a .904 save percentage over seven appearances.

  • Golden Knights' William Karlsson: Expected back before Olympic break

Karlsson (lower body) is set to return prior to the Olympic break, Sin Bin Vegas reports Tuesday.

Karlsson may be in danger of missing the Olympic tournament if Sweden doesn't keep a roster spot open for him. The Knights didn't provide a more concrete recovery timeline for Karlsson, but mid-to-late January seems the most likely timeline to give him enough time to head to Milan.

  • Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Remains day-to-day

Eichel (lower body) is still day-to-way and won't play against San Jose on Tuesday, Hannah Kirkell of Vegas Hockey Now reports.

Eichel will miss his fourth straight game, but he has some additional time to recover before Vegas hosts Colorado on Saturday. He has compiled 12 goals, 41 points and 117 shots on net over 31 appearances this season.

  • Golden Knights' Adin Hill: Remains week-to-week

Hill (lower body) is still considered week-to-week, according to head coach Bruce Cassidy on Tuesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Hill was labeled week-to-week back in late October, and it seems that status hasn't changed over a two-month span. At this point, fantasy managers probably shouldn't expect the 29-year-old netminder to return before mid-January. Even once cleared to play, Hill's status as the No. 1 backstop in Vegas may be in question now that Carter Hart has been added to the squad.

  • Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Leaves ice first Tuesday

Hart was the first goalie off the ice Tuesday, Sin Bin Vegas reports, indicating he'll be in goal at home versus San Jose.

Hart has made six appearances for the Knights since his suspension was lifted, posting a 3-1-2 record and a 2.56 GAA. While the 27-year-old netminder has been taking the bulk of the workload, six starts in nine outings, he may not be utilized as a true workhorse No. 1 in Vegas, especially once Adin Hill (lower body) is cleared to return.

  • Golden Knights' Shea Theodore: Moves to IR

Theodore (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, SinBin Vegas reports.

Vegas recalled Dylan Coghlan from AHL Henderson in a corresponding move. Theodore is week-to-week and will miss his fourth straight game against San Jose on Tuesday. An exact timeline for his recovery is unclear, but he might return before the end of January. Theodore has accounted for four goals, 20 points, 74 shots on net and 48 blocked shots in 31 appearances this season.

  • Golden Knights' Dylan Coghlan: Summoned from AHL

Coghlan was recalled from AHL Henderson on Tuesday.

Coghlan has notched five goals and 11 points in 23 minor-league outings this season. He will be an option for Tuesday against San Jose, but he could be a healthy scratch for the contest.
