Selection Sunday is coming, which means teams all across the country are making their final end-of-season pushes to impress the committee. That final push will come in conference tournaments, where any team can secure an automatic bid by winning their respective tournament.
That started for the Mountain West Conference on Wednesday afternoon. Nevada and Colorado State are the clear favorites to advance to the Big Dance, and while the Wolfpack sit as a projected No. 11 seed in Jerry Palm’s bracket, Colorado State currently sits on the outside looking in. So this is a high-stakes, high-reward tournament that will send one team into the field -- and potentially send the rest of the conference field packing.

Here is how you can watch the Mountain West Conference tournament.
When: March 8-11, 2017
Where: Las Vegas
TV: Mountain West Network/CBS Sports Network
Follow: CBS Sports App
Prediction: Colorado State
No team has been hotter in the Mountain West than the Rams. CSU had won seven straight before falling to Nevada in Saturday’s regular-season finale. Regardless, I think Colorado State is better suited for a tournament. I don’t see any team hanging with them right now.
