The altercation at UCLA between Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Bruins strength coach Sal Alosi won't result in a felony charge for the rap mogul, Variety reported on Thursday

According to the report, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office will not file assault charges stemming from an arrest that initially put Diddy behind bars with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making a terrorist threat ("threatening to kill/physically harm someone") and one count of battery. He was released after posting $160,000 bail.

Combs was initially charged by the UCPD. His case has now been to referred to the City Attorney's Office for potential misdemeanor charges.

Combs reportedly confronted Alosi in his office in UCLA's athletic complex following an incident between the strength coach and Justin Combs, a defensive back on the Bruins' football team. After he was removed from Alosi's office, Combs allegedly swung a kettlebell and hit a staffer.

"The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate," Nathalie Moar, a rep for Combs Enterprises, said after the incident. "What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son."

Jim Mora's only comment on the matter came shortly after Combs' arrest.

"I'm thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation. This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time."
