College football traditions: Rama Jama's a Crimson Tide mainstay in Tuscaloosa
You can find an Alabama football classic right in the shadow of Bryant-Denny Stadium
This weekend, Alabama fans will be traveling to Atlanta -- a place where the Crimson Tide have taken up football residence in the Peach Bowl and SEC Championship Game. But when their games are played at home in Tuscaloosa, you can find one of the great traditional spots of Alabama football in the shadow of Bryant-Denny Stadium at Rama Jama's.
Rama Jama's is right across the street from the stadium and is Alabama football through and through, celebrating the program's 16 national championships with special dishes that include a sandwich with 16 strips of bacon and a 16-ounce burger. Of course, there's also photos along the wall celebrating Tide football.
The owner, interviewed by CBS Sports as we focus on some of the great traditions in college football, can pass as a Nick Saban doppleganger. He said that, while no one was interested in taking pictures with him during his first 12 years at Rama Jama's until Saban arrived, now it happens almost every day.
Considering how many patrons go in and out of Rama Jam's before and after a college football game, he must be involved in a photoshoot every Saturday.
