Rasmus (ear) had ear surgery Wednesday to remove a cyst, and will be out until early September, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The Astros hope to have Rasmus back by early September, but he could be out longer depending on how he is feeling. Rasmus was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday after being diagnosed with a cholesteatoma and battling ear infections for an extended portion of the season. With the 30-year-old out for the next month, the Astros will turn to Tony Kemp and Teoscar Hernandez to man some of the outfield duties.
