Woodruff's stuff was "very, very sharp command-wise, plus velocity was really, really good" in Saturday's live batting practice session, according to pitching coach Chris Hook, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
One of four Brewers starters assured a rotation spot, Woodruff is the staff ace and didn't look rusty in his first action against live hitters. He is a strong candidate to be the team's Opening Day starter.
