Ladendorf's contract was selected from Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Ladendorf joined the Cubs on a minor-league deal in May, and he slashed .241/.297/.424 with eight homers, 29 runs, 29 RBI and a stolen base across 59 appearances in Iowa. He hasn't appeared in the majors since 2016 but will be available in a depth role after David Bote (undisclosed) was placed on the injured list Friday.
