Bellinger and the Dodgers have agreed to a one-year, $17 million contract to avoid arbitration, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Bellinger and the Dodgers agreed to the deal before the league's lockout, and the 26-year-old will receive a slight pay raise for the 2022 season. The 2019 National League MVP struggled during the 2021 campaign and slashed .165/.240/.302 with 10 homers, 39 runs, 36 RBI and three stolen bases across 95 games while battling various injuries. Bellinger served in the strong side of a platoon late in the year and could do so once again in 2022 if he gets off to a slow start at the plate.
