Giants' Dalton Guthrie: Designated for assignment

Guthrie was designated for assignment by the Giants on Thursday.

Guthrie had posted a .685 OPS in 42 plate appearances at Triple-A Sacramento since the Giants acquired him from the Phillies on June 22 in exchange for cash considerations. The 27-year-old is back in DFA limbo.
