The Guardians recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Columbus ahead of Thursday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.
Gonzalez was summoned from Triple-A to fill the void on the roster opened by the trade of shortstop Amed Rosario to the Dodgers on Wednesday. He didn't start Thursday but delivered a pinch-hit single off the bench, and he figures to work primarily as a short-side platoon option for Will Brennan and Steven Kwan in the corner outfield spots.
