Festa (elbow) made his 2021 debut for Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, tossing a scoreless inning and issuing one walk in a relief appearance.

Festa has been sidelined most of the season while recovering from March 2020 Tommy John surgery, but he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the lower levels of the minors in mid-July and quickly received the green light to rejoin Tacoma. The 28-year-old righty will presumably work out of the Tacoma bullpen for the remainder of the season, as his lack of a 40-man roster spot makes it unlikely that he'll receive a promotion to the Mariners at any point in the next two months.
