Marlins' Eric Jokisch: Designated for assignment

Jokisch was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Wednesday, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.

The Marlins added an extra corner infielder in Don Kelly on Wednesday to fill the void left by Justin Bour (ankle), who was placed on the DL in a corresponding move. In order to select the contract of Kelly, the team needed a 40-man roster spot, and that came at the expense of Jokisch. Jokisch was added as a waiver claim back in mid-April but never saw the field for the Marlins. He owns a 3.92 ERA over 39 frames between Double-A and Triple-A this season.
