Joseph signed a split contract with the Mets on Thursday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

James McCann is locked in as the Mets' starting catcher, but Joseph could at least push Tomas Nido and his .553 career OPS for the backup job. Joseph has just a .621 OPS himself, so he's unlikely to have much fantasy relevance even if injuries open up unexpected playing time.
