Senga is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his left calf Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
After missing the first four months of the season while recovering from a shoulder capsule strain as well as tricep inflammation, Senga was cleared make his 2024 debut Friday. He picked up the win against Atlanta while striking out nine and allowing two runs on two hits and one walk, but he exited midway through the sixth inning after tweaking his calf while running to cover first base on a pop-up. Manager Carlos Mendoza said after the game that the team believes the 31-year-old righty suffered only a strain rather than a more serious injury to his calf, though the results of Saturday's MRI are still pending. Senga could be headed back to the IL, even if the MRI reveals nothing overly concerning.
