Nick Gardewine: Cut loose by Rangers

Gardewine (undisclosed) was placed on unconditional release waivers Thursday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Gardewine was designated for assignment Saturday, and his time with Texas has come to an end after he failed to draw interest while on the waiver wire. He struck out eight over 4.1 scoreless innings this season with Triple-A Nashville prior to his release.
