Padres' Kevin Quackenbush: Slowed by hamstring strain
Quackenbush has been slowed during recent workouts by a hamstring strain, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Manager Andy Green said he doesn't expect the injury to affect Quackenbush's status as he competes for a role in the team's wide-open bullpen. He'll likely be limited for a few more days, but the Padres don't view the injury as anything that could hamper him long-term. "With bullpen arms, there's really no need to rush these guys," Green said over the weekend. "... It takes five, six outings to get ready for the season. We're going to be cautious with those guys."
