Padres' Ryan Schimpf: Out for Game 2 Wednesday

Schimpf is out of the lineup Wednesday for Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Cardinals.

He got the start in Game 1 and went 1-for-4 with his sixth home run of the season. So far he has offered impressive power at the keystone, but it's hard to envision him improving his .219 average by much over the rest of the season, given his career .249 average in the minors. Adam Rosales will get the start at second base and hit seventh in the nightcap.
