Owens allowed two runs on six hits, three walks and a hit batsman in six innings Friday night in Boston's 4-2 win over the Yankees.

Owens wasn't around for the win, but he was able to extend in this start after lasting just 3.1 innings in his first outing. A big difference Friday was the four double plays turned by the defense behind the tall lefty. Owens has walked a tight rope, having allowed 19 baserunners in 9.1 innings over his two starts, so he hasn't exactly grabbed hold of a spot. With Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) on a rehabilitation assignment and Joe Kelly (shoulder) throwing a bullpen session Friday, it would appear Owens' days in the starting rotation are limited to another one or two starts.
