Hendrix elected free agency Thursday, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
Hendrix was designated for assignment by the Reds last week and cleared waivers, but he'll choose to test things out in free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Louisville. The right-hander made nine relief appearances in the majors during the 2022 campaign and posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 8.1 innings.
