Tigers' Casey Mize: Shifted to 60-day injured list

The Tigers transferred Mize (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for left-hander Bryan Sammons, who was called up from Triple-A Toledo. Mize has resumed throwing off a mound after being sidelined for the last few weeks with a strained left hamstring, but he won't be eligible to rejoin the Tigers until at least early September.
