Mets' Jared Young: Officially lands on 7-day IL
The Mets placed Young on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Young's season is over after he had to be taken off the field on a stretcher in Thursday's game versus the Phillies after taking a knee to the head on a play at first base. He is dealing with concussion symptoms including short-term memory loss and bad headaches, but interim manager Andy Green said that Young is doing "as good as expected or could be hoped for."

The Reds transferred Steer (wrist) to the 60-day injured list Friday.
The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Oswaldo Cabrera, who was claimed off waivers. Steer has been ramping up his activities recently as he works his way back from a partial tear of the tendon sheath in his wrist. He will be eligible for activation Sept. 25, but there's a good chance Steer's season is over.

Stewart socked his 32nd home run of the season in the fourth inning. The blast was the first in 16 games for the rookie, who entered Thursday with just three RBI over his previous 15 contests.

Steer (wrist) has been taking dry swings and is preparing to hit off a velocity machine next week, MLB.com reports.
Steer, who is unlikely to play again during the 2026 regular season, will ramp up while the Reds finish the regular season on the road in Atlanta and Toronto. Following his work on the machine, Steer is ticketed for Arizona, where he may get at-bats in the Arizona Fall League.

Young (head) underwent a CT scan, which came back negative, following his departure from Thursday night's 3-0 loss to the Phillies, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Young was sent to the hospital after he was taken off the field on a stretcher following a collision with Nolan McLean near first base in the sixth inning. Young is dealing with concussion symptoms according to interim manager Andy Green, and his status for the remainder of the 2026 campaign is now in question.

Young was carted off the field in the sixth inning of Thursday night's contest against the Phillies due to an apparent head injury, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Young suffered the injury during a scary collision with starting pitcher Nolan McLean while trying to field a groundball with two outs in the top of the sixth. A stretcher was utilized to move him off the field, though he encouragingly gave a thumbs up as he was carted off. Mark Vientos replaced Young at first base, and more information on the latter's status will likely be provided following the conclusion of Thursday's contest.
