Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Taking seat Thursday
Chisholm isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.
Chisholm has gone 2-for-6 with two walks, a run and a steal across his first two games since returning from the injured list, and the Yankees will now give him a day to rest as they prepare to face left-hander Ian Seymour. Anthony Volpe will get the nod at second base and bat seventh.

Kody Clemens 2B | MIN
Twins' Kody Clemens: Day off against lefty
Clemens is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest in San Francisco.
The lefty-swinging Clemens has been an everyday player for the vast majority of the season for the Twins, but this will be his second straight time out of the lineup versus a lefty. Royce Lewis will handle second base for Minnesota.

Jackson Holliday 2B | BAL
Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Slated for wrist surgery
Holliday will undergo left wrist surgery next week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Holliday is dealing with a triangular fibrocartilage complex tear in the wrist. The current estimate points to Holliday needing 10 weeks to rehab, which would give him plenty of time to be ready ahead of spring training. Holliday was limited to only 98 games this season due to injury, slashing .229/.300/.340 in those contests.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Collects hit in return to lineup
Chisholm went 1-for-3 with a walk in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rays.
Activated from the IL between games of the twin bill after recovering from a thumb injury, Chisholm got the start at second base and hit sixth. With the Yankees now locked into a wild-card spot after splitting the doubleheader, Chisholm's focus will be on staying healthy and getting ready for the first round of the playoffs next week, so he may not be an everyday presence in the lineup over the final days of the regular season. He needs one more home run to record his second career 20-40 campaign.

Nick Sogard 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Nick Sogard: Makes fourth straight start at 1B
Sogard started at first base and went 2-for-5 with a double in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians.
Sogard filled in at first base for a fourth consecutive game while Willson Contreras tends to a right hand injury. With Boston having clinched a playoff spot, the team does not have to rush Contreras back, although it would like to see him on the field and swing a bat before the postseason begins. Sogard has gone 3-for-18 during his time filling in.

Cole Young 2B | SEA
Mariners' Cole Young: Snags steal
Young went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-0 loss to the Astros.
Young's bat has faded late in the season -- he's just 3-for-22 over his last seven games. The steal was his fourth on nine attempts this campaign as he's struggled to make an impact on the basepaths. The infielder is batting .246 with a .693 OPS, 17 home runs, 65 RBI, 71 runs scored, 19 doubles and four triples across 155 contests.
