Blaze Jordan 3B | STL
Cardinals' Blaze Jordan: Done for 2026
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Saturday that Jordan (ankle) will not play again this season, John Denton of Roundtable.io reports.
Jordan was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain in late August. While he recently shed his walking boot and began incorporating some baseball activities, the Cardinals ultimately decided to shut him down early because of the severity of the injury he suffered, according to Denton. The 23-year-old Jordan ends his rookie season with a .247/.276/.382 slash line and three homers over 199 plate appearances.

Brady House 3B | WAS
Nationals' Brady House: On bench Saturday
House is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.
Jorbit Vivas will start at third base against right-hander Michael McGreevy as House sits for the second time in three games. House, a right-handed hitter, has a .333/.404/.538 slash line with the platoon edge this season but just a .197/.254/.332 line against same-side pitching.

Oswaldo Cabrera SS | CIN
Reds' Oswaldo Cabrera: Reports to big club
Cabrera joined the Reds' active roster Saturday.
Cabrera seemed destined to join the Reds' Triple-A affiliate when he was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on Friday, but Cincinnati will instead add him to its active roster to provide depth in both the infield and outfield. TJ Friedl was sent down to Louisville in a corresponding move.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Homers off bench in win
Muncy went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Friday's 8-2 win over the Giants.
The veteran slugger grounded out as a pinch hitter for Miguel Rojas in the fifth inning, but he remained in the game at third base. Muncy then sparked the Dodgers' four-homer barrage in the eighth with a solo shot, his 29th long ball of the year. He's batting .253 with an .847 OPS, 74 RBI, 78 runs scored, 24 doubles, one triple and two stolen bases over 142 contests. While Muncy continues to see time as a strong-side platoon option, he's put together one of the better seasons of his career in that role.

Nolan Gorman 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Not included in St. Louis lineup
Gorman is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Nationals.
Gorman has received the lion's share of playing time at third base since being recalled from Triple-A Memphis in late August, but he's gone just 9-for-57 (.157) with a 30.6 percent strikeout rate during that stretch. With JJ Wetherholt and Masyn Winn both now healthy, there will be fewer at-bats to be had in the St. Louis infield for players like Gorman. Thomas Saggese is handling third base for the Cardinals on Friday.
-
Ke'Bryan Hayes 3B | CIN
Reds' Ke'Bryan Hayes: Absent from lineup
Hayes is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Cubs.
Hayes' playing time since he returned from the injured list earlier this month has been unsteady, as this will be his fifth time out of the lineup across 11 tilts. Jose Trevino is getting a start in Hayes' place, as Tyler Stephenson will slot in at designated hitter and Eugenio Suarez will play third base.

Oswaldo Cabrera SS | CIN
Reds' Oswaldo Cabrera: Scooped up off waivers by Reds
The Reds claimed Cabrera off waivers from the Yankees on Friday.
Cabrera has a career .232/.292/.343 slash line over parts of five major-league seasons, but he can play all over the diamond and is under team control through 2028. The 27-year-old appears ticketed for Triple-A Louisville for the time being.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado: Pops homer Wednesday
Arenado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.
Arenado was pulled from Tuesday's game due to a thumb injury, but he was able to start and play a full game at third base Wednesday. He contributed a solo shot in the eighth inning to get Arizona back within a run, though the comeback effort fell short. Arenado is batting .243 with a .770 OPS, 26 homers, 74 RBI, 71 runs scored, 23 doubles, one triple and four stolen bases over 143 contests. The thumb issue originally cropped up in late August, so it may be a matter of pain management for Arenado the rest of the campaign.

Kyle Karros 3B | COL
Rockies' Kyle Karros: Goes yard in loss
Karros went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Padres.
Karros has gone 7-for-31 (.226) over eight games since he came back from a concussion. The third baseman's tallied two homers in that span. For the season, he's batting .260 with a .782 OPS, 12 homers, 47 RBI, 61 runs scored, 21 doubles, three triples and five stolen bases over 122 contests.
