Kelly is absent from the lineup for the first game of Friday's doubleheader versus the Red Sox.

Miguel Amaya will do the catching and bat ninth in the first game of the double dip. Kelly should be back behind the dish for the nightcap.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said after Thursday's 5-1 win over the Phillies that he removed Contreras for a pinch hitter late because the backstop didn't run out a grounder he could have gotten a hit on, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

This doesn't figure to have any real implications for Contreras' playing time moving forward, but it sends a message to the clubhouse that a lack of hustle will not be tolerated. Contreras was an All-Star this season -- his third career All-Star selection -- and he has been hot for Milwaukee with an .886 OPS in September entering Thursday's game.

Rushing (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Rushing will make his return to the major-league roster after missing nearly three weeks while nursing right elbow discomfort. The 25-year-old will provide the team with a boost off the bench as the primary reserve option behind starting catcher Will Smith.

Teel went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and three runs during Thursday's 9-1 win over the Royals.

Teel launched his first homer since Sept. 8 after blasting his fifth homer of the campaign off Alex Lange in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old scored a season-high three runs during Thursday's win. Over 136 plate appearances this season, Teel has slashed .196/.333/.357 with five homers and 24 RBI.

Smith isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres.

Smith will retreat to the dugout to begin Thursday's contest after going 6-for-16 with three homers over his last five games. Hunter Feduccia will fill in behind the plate and bat eighth.

Alvarez is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Rangers.

After starting each of the previous four contests, Alvarez will exit the lineup for Thursday's series finale. The Mets will go with Luis Torrens at catcher as they attempt a series sweep.

Mack is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Mack did the catching Wednesday night, so he'll get some rest during Thursday's matinee. Brian Navarreto will handle the catching duties for the Marlins.

Flores is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Cardinals.

Henry Davis has been Paul Skenes' personal catcher this season, so it will be Davis behind the dish for Skenes' final outing in 2026. Flores went hitless in the first two games of the series.

Jensen went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the White Sox.

Jensen collected a trio of singles, marking his fifth game of the season with three-plus hits. The young catcher is ending the regular season on a high note, hitting .338/.416/.750 with six homers, 15 RBI and 16 runs in 18 September contests. Overall, Jensen is slashing .237/.323/.454 with 25 homers, 76 RBI, 77 runs and two stolen bases across 146 games.

The Twins outrighted Jackson to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday.

Jackson passed through waivers unclaimed again after being booted off the Twins' 40-man roster. He has the ability to elect free agency, but doing so would mean forfeiting what remains on his $1.35 million salary for 2026.
