    Rangers' Brandon Nimmo: Scratched from starting lineup

    Texas scratched Nimmo from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays due to an illness.

    Nimmo will now have two days to recover from the ailment thanks to Monday's team off day. Alejandro Osuna will replace Nimmo in right field and bat fifth.

    Varsho is out of the lineup for Sunday's matchup with Atlanta.

    With Atlanta sending left-hander Martin Perez to the bump, Varsho will ride the pine for Sunday's series finale. Brice Matthews will take over in center field and bat ninth for Houston.

    White Sox's Tristan Peters: Out Sunday

    Peters (shoulder/rib) isn't in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

    Peters will miss his second consecutive game after injuring his left shoulder crashing into the wall Friday. Brenton Doyle will start in center field and bat ninth for the White Sox on Sunday.

    Athletics' Carlos Cortes: Out of starting nine

    Cortes is absent from the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Guardians.

    Cortes has slashed just .136/.208/.182 over his last seven games and will receive a breather for Sunday's series finale. Henry Bolte will shift over to left field for the A's while Denzel Clarke patrols center and bats eighth.

    Rays' Jake Fraley: DFA'd by Rays

    Tampa Bay designated Fraley for assignment Sunday.

    After just being reinstated from the 60-day IL earlier this week, the 31-year-old was cut loose. With Victor Mesa becoming the Rays' everyday right fielder, Fraley wasn't going to find much playing time. Ben Williamson (hamstring) return from the IL in a corresponding move.

    Rangers' Wyatt Langford: On base three times in win

    Langford went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over Toronto.

    Langford has been an on-base machine for Texas over the last week, reaching base safely in all five plate appearances Friday. He's drawn walks and scored runs in four consecutive games. Over the last eight contests, Langford is 7-for-25 with eight walks (.455 OBP), two steals, two doubles, one home run, four RBI and seven runs scored.

    Red Sox's Wilyer Abreu: Idle Sunday

    Abreu is out of the lineup for Boston's matchup with Tampa Bay on Sunday.

    Abreu will take a breather after striking out five times through the first two games of the series against the Rays. Nate Eaton will start in right field and bat ninth for the Red Sox.

    Caglianone went 2-for-3 with two walks, one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Pirates.

    Caglianone sat out Friday's contest with a minor hand injury but returned in a big way, reaching base four times and tallying his first stolen base since Aug. 15. It was a much-needed effort from the 23-year-old, who entered the game just 4-for-27 with a 1:11 BB:K through his first 10 September contests. On the season, Cags is slashing .279/.332/.485 with 23 homers, 71 RBI, 68 runs scored and seven steals across 527 plate appearances.

    Guardians' Chase DeLauter: Goes deep in win

    DeLauter went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 12-6 win over the Athletics.

    DeLauter got the Guardians on the board with a blast in the first inning before coming around to score after a single in the third. It continued a steady second half for the 24-year-old, who owns an .868 OPS with 18 extra-base hits, 19 RBI, 26 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 47 games since the All-Star break. Overall, he's slashing .290/.363/.458 with 15 homers, 65 RBI, 59 runs scored and 11 steals across 531 plate appearances in what has been a successful rookie campaign.

    Guardians' Angel Martinez: Monster performance in return

    Martinez went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 12-6 win over the Athletics.

    In his first game since Monday, Martinez fell a triple shy of the cycle and notched his second two-homer game of the season. It continued a long stretch of strong play by the 24-year-old, who's hitting .325 with 18 extra-base hits, 24 RBI and 19 runs scored over 35 games since the calendar flipped to August. For the year, he's slashing .255/.292/.467 with 17 home runs, 57 RBI, 47 runs scored and 11 steals across 390 plate appearances.
