  • Spencer Jones CF | NYY

Yankees' Spencer Jones: Raps two doubles in three-RBI game

Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a pair of doubles in Wednesday's 10-5 win over Seattle.

On a night when the Yankees banged out a whopping eight extra-base hits, Jones accounted for two of them out of the No. 3 lineup spot. Luis Garcia has gotten off to a bit of a slow start since joining the Yankees, so it remains to be seen how New York will handle its batting order going forward. Jones has provided some pop while getting on base at a healthy clip but has struggled to hit for average, slashing .218/.312/.403 with five homers, 18 RBI, five stolen bases and 12 runs scored across 141 trips to the plate.

  • Jo Adell RF | CLE

Guardians' Jo Adell: Second home run in Cleveland

Adell went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Tigers.

Adell slugged the go-ahead homer in the fifth to deep left field off Framber Valdez to give the Guardians a 4-3 lead. The 27-year-old now has hit long balls in back-to-back games, his first two in a Cleveland uniform. Since making his Guardians debut Aug. 4, Adell has a .172/.324/.448 slash line with four RBI and a 10:5 K:BB in 37 plate appearances.

  • Angel Martinez LF | CLE

Guardians' Angel Martinez: Three hits in win

Martinez went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Tigers.

Martinez has now forged a seven-game hitting streak while making a case for more playing time in the Guardians' outfield. He's posted a .393 batting average and 10 RBI over 30 plate appearances during that span. Wednesday's game marked the 24-year-old's first three-hit effort since May 2.

  • Trent Grisham CF | NYY

Yankees' Trent Grisham: Ninth career multi-homer game

Grisham went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Mariners.

It was Grisham's second multi-homer effort of the season and the ninth of his career. The outfielder is swinging a hot bat atop New York's batting order, tallying multiple hits in three consecutive outings amidst a four-game extra-base hit streak. Through 399 plate appearances, Grisham is slashing .222/.314/.418 with 15 long balls, 50 RBI, seven stolen bases and 59 runs scored.

  • Sam Antonacci LF | CHW

White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Three hits, steal in win

Antonacci went 3-for-5 with a double and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Reds.

Antonacci made a third straight start at second base, but with Chase Meidroth healthy again after a bout of wrist soreness, Antonacci figures to move back into a strong-side platoon role in left field soon. Over 10 contests in August, Antonacci has gone 8-for-33 (.242) with three RBI, and this was his first successful steal on three attempts this month. The 23-year-old is batting .278 with a .776 OPS, eight home runs, 15 steals, 35 RBI, 59 runs scored, 17 doubles and two triples over his first 99 big-league games.

  • Wyatt Langford LF | TEX

    Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Sitting Wednesday

Langford isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Langford will grab a seat on the bench after going 0-for-6 with three walks and three strikeouts through the first two games of the series. While he rests, Jarred Kelenic will start in left field and bat fifth.

  • Nathan Lukes RF | TOR

Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Idle against southpaw

Lukes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Lukes had started in the Blue Jays' last two games, but the left-handed-hitting outfielder will get a break Wednesday while the Red Sox send southpaw Ranger Suarez to the bump. Brett Bateman will cover right field in place of Lukes.

  • Corey Julks RF | DET

Tigers' Corey Julks: Added to major-league roster

The Tigers selected Julks' contract from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by the injured Riley Greene (hamstring) and will start in right field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game versus the Guardians. Julks has slashed .273/.347/.453 with 15 home runs in 86 games this season with Toledo. The right-handed-hitting Julks could see regular reps against lefties as the Tigers navigate multiple injuries in their outfield.

  • Riley Greene LF | DET

Tigers' Riley Greene: Lands on IL with hamstring strain

The Tigers placed Greene on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a right hamstring strain.

Greene sustained the injury in the second inning of the Tigers' 6-4 win over the Guardians on Tuesday, either when he was hit on his right leg by a pitch or when he was running the bases shortly thereafter. The Tigers may not know the extent of Greene's injury until he undergoes an MRI, but the club will elect to hold him out for at least the next week and a half. Detroit called up Corey Julks from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move, and the Tigers will likely lean on a combination of Julks, Ben Malgeri and James Outman to fill in in left field while Greene is on the mend.

  • Petey Halpin CF | CLE

Guardians' Petey Halpin: Losing out on playing time

Halpin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

The Guardians will leave the Halpin on the bench for the fifth game in a row, with the left-handed-hitting outfielder sitting twice against right-handed starters during that stretch. Halpin looks like he'll have to settle for a part-time role versus righties after the Guardians added Jo Adell and Nathaniel Lowe at the trade deadline and called up one of their top position prospects in Angel Genao from Triple-A Columbus last week.
