  • Drew Gilbert CF | SF

Giants' Drew Gilbert: Homers in Saturday's loss

Gilbert went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 7-6 loss to the Padres.

The 25-year-old outfielder lined a single to left field in the first inning before coming around to score, and he added a two-run homer off Bradgley Rodriguez in the eighth. Gilbert recorded his first multi-hit performance of the month Saturday and is batting .217 with five runs scored, two RBI and a home run across 24 plate appearances in September. Overall, he's slashing .235/.321/.382 with 48 runs scored, 38 RBI, nine long balls and a stolen base in 366 plate appearances this season.

  • Diamondbacks' Lourdes Gurriel: DFA'd by Arizona

The Diamondbacks designated Gurriel for assignment Sunday.

The veteran slugger has started just three games since being reinstated from the injured list at the start of September, and Arizona has now elected to remove him from the 28-man and 40-man rosters. Gurriel has a .544 OPS with two homers in 201 plate appearances this season, which is the final guaranteed year of his contract. He has a $14 million club option with a $5 million buyout for 2027, which will likely guarantee that he passes through waivers unclaimed.

  • Jordan Walker RF | STL

Cardinals' Jordan Walker: Back in action Sunday

Walker (ankle) is starting in right field and batting cleanup Sunday against the White Sox.

The 24-year-old outfielder was held out of the lineup Saturday after exiting Friday's contest due to an ankle issue, but he's good to go for the series finale versus Chicago. Walker has been scuffling at the plate over his past seven games, going 3-for-23 with two walks, a double and eight strikeouts.

  • Nathan Church CF | STL

Cardinals' Nathan Church: Three-hit effort in loss

Church went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the White Sox.

Church has yet to be held hitless in September, going 14-for-39 (.359) over 11 games this month. Just two of the knocks have gone for extra bases, both being doubles. The outfielder is putting together a strong finish to the year, which has seen him hit .251 with a .667 OPS, 10 home runs, 50 RBI, 49 runs scored, 13 doubles, two triples and 10 stolen bases over 129 contests in total.

  • Padres' Fernando Tatis: Big day in Saturday's win

Tatis went 2-for-3 with three walks, a solo home run and two stolen bases in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Giants.

The steals gave Tatis a career high in the category with 34 on the season, while his sixth-inning long ball off Joel Kuhnel was his 21st of the campaign. Tatis' slow start to 2026 has been long forgotten, and over his last 35 games he's batting .304 with 13 homers, eight steals, 24 RBI and 29 runs.

  • Padres' Jackson Merrill: Joins 25-25 club

Merrill went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Giants.

The 23-year-old center fielder took Cesar Perdomo deep in the third inning for his third home run in the last three games and his 25th of the season. Merrill is the fourth player this season to join the 25-25 club, following Pete Crow-Armstrong, Elly De La Cruz and CJ Abrams. After a slow start to the campaign, Merrill has been locked in since the All-Star break, batting .299 over his last 52 games with 15 homers, seven steals, 34 runs and 42 RBI.

  • James Wood RF | WAS

Nationals' James Wood: Swipes two bags in Saturday's win

Wood went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Angels.

The steals were the 20th and 21st of the season for Wood, and per Jessica Camerato of MLB.com, he and CJ Abrams (30 HR, 29 SB) are the 11th pair of teammates in league history to record 30-20 seasons together, a club most recently joined by Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor with the Mets last year. Since returning from an oblique strain in early September, Wood has gone 9-for-33 (.273) with three doubles, four steals, two runs and two RBI, but he's still looking for his first homer since July 26 as he remains stuck on 30.

  • Braves' Michael Harris: Breaks out with homer, four hits

Harris went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 12-2 win over the Phillies.

Harris launched a late three-run blast off position player Garrett Stubbs on Saturday. It still goes down as the outfielder's third four-hit attack of the campaign and was a much-needed one at that; he was just 3-for-35 to begin September prior to Saturday. He's hitting .288 with a career-high 25 homers, 32 doubles, 83 RBI and 11 stolen bases across 542 at-bats this year.

  • Braves' Ronald Acuna: Goes deep in three-hit game

Acuna went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, two RBI, a walk and an additional run scored in Saturday's 12-2 win over the Phillies.

Acuna stayed hot Saturday, hitting safely for the 14th time in his last 18 games. The star outfielder has five multi-hit efforts in the month of September already, piling up 11 RBI in his last nine outings. Through 421 plate appearances, he's slashing a .255/.349/.448 with 17 big flies, 47 RBI, 20 stolen bases and 55 runs scored for his first 20-steal campaign since 2023.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Monster performance in win

Mitchell went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, four RBI, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Saturday's 13-9 win over the Reds.

Mitchell is heating up in a hurry, smacking a homer and racking up four RBI in back-to-back games. The outfielder has hit safely in eight of his last 11 outings, and he's up to five extra-base hits with 10 RBI already in the month of September. Through 485 plate appearances, he's slashing a .269/.357/.432 with a career-high 11 long balls, 28 doubles, four triples, 65 RBI, 14 steals and 68 runs scored.
