Bo Davidson RF | SF
Giants' Bo Davidson: In Friday's lineup
Davidson (foot) will start in right field and bat fourth Friday against the Dodgers, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Davidson was pulled from Wednesday's game early after fouling a ball off his foot, but he appears to be feeling well enough to play after getting an extra day off Thursday. The 24-year-old outfielder has collected a base hit in each of his first three MLB games while adding two runs and a steal, but it may be harder for him to find success Friday against formidable lefty Tarik Skubal.

Jackson Chourio LF | MIL
Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Resting Friday
Chourio isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals.
Chourio will get another chance to rest Friday after coming off the bench and going 1-for-1 with a solo homer, a walk, an additional run scored and a steal Thursday against the Phillies. Sal Frelick, Garrett Mitchell and Luis Lara will start across the outfield while Chourio sits.

Brandon Nimmo RF | TEX
Rangers' Brandon Nimmo: Returning to leadoff spot
Nimmo will start in right field and bat leadoff Friday against the Twins.
Nimmo will be making his first start atop the order since May 11 after primarily batting fourth or fifth in recent months, as manager Skip Schumaker tries to jumpstart the offense and beat out the Astros for the AL West crown. The 33-year-old Nimmo hit .276/.358/.414 out of the leadoff spot earlier this season before shifting down the lineup.

Brandon Lockridge LF | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Lockridge: Up from Nashville
The Brewers recalled Lockridge from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
Lockridge will return to Milwaukee for the final series of the regular season following Andrew Vaughn's (illness) move to the injured list. Lockridge has slashed .273/.345/.313 across 111 plate appearances with the big club this season and posted a .707 OPS over his final 20 games at Nashville after being sent down to Triple-A in mid-August.

Cole Carrigg CF | COL
Rockies' Cole Carrigg: Grabbing seat Friday
Carrigg is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox.
It's the first day off this month for Carrigg, who went 4-for-5 with his 11th home run of the season in Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks. The Rockies will roll out Mickey Moniak, Jake McCarthy and Troy Johnston in the outfield Friday.

Brett Bateman CF | TOR
Blue Jays' Brett Bateman: Expected back Saturday
Bateman (hip) is expected to return to the starting lineup Saturday against the Reds, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Bateman left Monday's game with right hip discomfort and has not seen the field since, but he is making progress and it sounds like he will play again this weekend, even with the Blue Jays now officially out of playoff contention. Depending on how Bateman responds to pregame work Friday, he could be available off the bench for the series opener against Cincinnati.

Ceddanne Rafaela CF | BOS
Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: On bench again for nightcap
Rafaela remains out of the starting lineup for the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Cubs, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Right hamstring tightness forced Rafaela from Wednesday's game -- his very first game back from a right quad strain -- though he was back in the lineup Thursday. He may be dealing with some lingering effects of the hamstring injury. It's also possible the Red Sox are just playing it safe with their playoff seeding now set.

Anthony Santander RF | TOR
Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Won't return in 2026
Santander (shoulder) will not be returning to the Blue Jays this season, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Santander had been working his way back from left shoulder surgery, advancing to a rehab assignment earlier this month. However, he had a back issue crop up during his assignment, and the Blue Jays ultimately decided to have him get an early start on his offseason training. Santander did not make a single big-league appearance this season and has totaled just 54 regular-season games played in his first two years with Toronto.

Brett Bateman CF | TOR
Blue Jays' Brett Bateman: Out again Friday
Bateman (hip) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.
Bateman hasn't played since Monday due to right hip discomfort, but his MRI was negative and the Blue Jays have not officially closed the door on him playing again this season. Charles McAdoo will get a turn in the leadoff spot Friday against left-hander Nick Lodolo.
