Tigers' Riley Greene: Dealing with hamstring injury

Greene exited Tuesday's game versus Cleveland in the third inning as a result of right hamstring tightness.

Greene was hit by a pitch on his right leg while leading off the bottom of the second frame, and it's possible that he tweaked his hamstring while running the bases during the inning. Greene can be considered day-to-day for the time being, and additional information on the injury will likely come following the conclusion of Tuesday's contest.

Tigers' Riley Greene: Exits early after HBP

Greene (leg) was removed from Tuesday's contest against the Guardians in the third inning, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Greene took a 92.1 mph sinker from Cleveland right-hander Tanner Bibee off his right leg to open the bottom of the second inning, and he was ultimately able to stay in the game long enough to score on a one-out RBI double by Spencer Torkelson. Greene was then taken out of the game prior to the top of the third frame, and Ben Malgeri took over in left field. Greene will likely undergo imaging on the leg, and more information on his status will likely be provided in the near future.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Sitting Tuesday

Hernandez isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Hernandez will get a chance to recollect himself after going just 1-for-17 across his last six games. Alex Call will fill in as the Dodgers' left fielder and bat eighth.

  • Astros' Taylor Trammell: Riding pine Tuesday

Trammell is absent from Tuesday's lineup against the Giants.

Trammell will sit out the second game of a three-game set with the Giants after going 0-for-3 with two walks in Monday's series opener. Nelson Velazquez, who was recently claimed off waivers by the Astros, will take over in left field and bat sixth for Houston.

  • Giants' Eddys Leonard: Designated for assignment

The Giants designated Leonard for assignment Tuesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Leonard will end up as the odd man out of a 40-man roster spot following Victor Bericoto's (oblique) return from the injured list and the signing of Andrew Knizner. Leonard went 2-for-8 with a double and two strikeouts during the first three games of his MLB career.

  • Giants' Victor Bericoto: Activated from IL, batting fifth

San Francisco reinstated Bericoto (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

After spending just over a month on the shelf with a left oblique strain, Bericoto completed a rehab assignment and was cleared to return to the big-league squad Tuesday. In 59 major-league plate appearances this season, the 24-year-old has slashed .293/.305/.552 with four home runs and nine RBI. The Giants designated Eddys Leonard for assignment to make room for Bericoto on the active roster.

  • Jarred Kelenic LF | TEX

Rangers' Jarred Kelenic: Called up by Texas

The Rangers selected Kelenic's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

After recently re-signing with Texas on a minor-league contract, Kelenic has returned to the big leagues to provide depth in the outfield. The 26-year-old has provided lackluster numbers over 69 plate appearances in the majors between the White Sox and Rangers this season, slashing .213/.304/.295.

  • Royals' Isaac Collins: Sitting Tuesday

Collins is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Collins is taking a seat after going 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the series opener against the Dodgers on Monday. Tyler Tolbert gets the start in left field Tuesday and is batting seventh.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Sitting out Tuesday

Soderstrom is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's matchup with the Rays.

Soderstrom will ride the pine for the second game of a three-game set against Tampa Bay after going 1-for-5 with an RBI double, a run scored and two strikeouts Monday. Zack Gelof will move over to left field and bat second for the A's.

  • Nathan Lukes RF | TOR

Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Slotted into lineup Tuesday

Lukes is now in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup with Boston.

After originally not being in the lineup for Tuesday's game with the Red Sox, Lukes will enter the starting nine after Kazuma Okamoto was a late scratch. Lukes will round out the bottom of the order and play right field as Brett Bateman slides over to center field for Toronto.
