Trent Grisham CF | NYY
Yankees' Trent Grisham: Back with NYY on QO
Grish accepted the one-year, $22.025 million qualifying offer from the Yankees on Tuesday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.
The 29-year-old had a breakout 2025 with 34 homers and an .812 OPS in 143 regular-season games, and it's not a major surprise he accepted the qualifying offer given that he had a .651 OPS across the previous three seasons. Grisham should be back in center field for the Yankees in 2026, though it would be a bit surprising if he replicated the elite power production.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Back with Tigers after taking QO
Torres (groin) accepted the Tigers' one-year, $22.025 million qualifying offer Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Torres decided against testing out the free-agent market, instead choosing to take a sizable raise after he made $15 million in 2025. The 29-year-old slashed .256/.358/.387 with 16 home runs, 79 runs and 74 RBI during the 2025 regular season, though he struggled in the second half while playing through a sports hernia. Torres had hernia surgery in October and is expected to be ready in time for spring training.

Kendry Rojas SP | MIN
Twins' Kendry Rojas: Gets spot on 40-man roster
The Twins selected Rojas' contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Tuesday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.
Acquired from the Blue Jays in the Louis Varland trade, Rojas struggled in eight starts for St. Paul down the stretch, holding a 6.59 ERA and 28:23 K:BB over 27.1 innings. However, the 22-year-old southpaw has swing-and-miss stuff, having fanned 90 in 69 frames between his various minor-league stops in 2025. Rojas is now on the 40-man roster and protected from the Rule 5 Draft.

Josh Winckowski RP | BOS
Red Sox's Josh Winckowski: Booted from 40-man roster
The Red Sox designated Winckowski (elbow) for assignment Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
The move frees up a spot on Boston's 40-man roster. Winckowski made just six appearances for the Red Sox in 2025, as he spent time in the minors and also missed a large chunk of action with a flexor strain. It's unclear what Winckowski's current health status is. The 27-year-old has a career 4.20 ERA and 195:89 K:BB across 242.1 innings.

Nate Lowe 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Nathaniel Lowe: DFA'd by Red Sox
The Red Sox designated Lowe for assignment Tuesday.
Lowe had been set to be non-tendered later this week, so this transaction just serves a way to remove him from the 40-man roster sooner. The veteran first baseman slashed only .228/.307/.381 with 18 home runs over 153 regular-season games between the Nationals and Red Sox in 2025. Lowe will become a free agent once he officially clears waivers.

Luis Guerrero RP | BOS
Rays' Luis Guerrero: Dealt to Rays
The Rays acquired Guerrero from the Red Sox on Tuesday in exchange for Tristan Gray.
Guerrero was outrighted off Boston's 40-man roster last week after passing through waivers unclaimed, but now he's on the move to a new organization. The right-hander holds a 2.63 ERA but a 19:16 K:BB across 27.1 frames covering parts of two major-league seasons. Guerrero has a big arm and the Rays will now be tasked with getting him to throw more strikes, which is something they've had success with as an organization with other hurlers.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Undergoes minor procedure
Altuve underwent a procedure to remove fluid between the fourth and fifth toes on his right foot Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Altuve played through the issue for the final few weeks of the regular season after suffering the injury Sept. 13 against Atlanta. McTaggart described the procedure as a minor skin aspiration, and the expectation is that the 35-year-old will be ready for the start of spring training.

Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Still not over hamstring tear
Astros general manager Dana Brown said during last week's general managers' meetings that Paredes was about 65 percent recovered from his right hamstring injury, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Brown added that he's hopeful Paredes will be 80-to-90 percent recovered by spring training and potentially be ready to go by Opening Day. Paredes missed two months due to a right hamstring tear suffered in mid-July before making a late-season return, though he was limited to designated hitter duty and severely compromised as a baserunner. The 26-year-old will continue to rehab the injury and it sounds like he'll be slow-played at the start of spring training.

Spencer Arrighetti P | HOU
Astros' Spencer Arrighetti: Expected to be ready for spring
Arrighetti (elbow) is expected to be 100 percent for the beginning of spring training, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Arrighetti missed the final month of the season with a right elbow injury, but he's considered healthy now and is "having a very productive offseason," per Astros general manager Dana Brown. The 25-year-old was limited to only seven starts at the major-league level in 2025, as he was sidelined four months with a right thumb fracture in addition to the elbow issue. Brown indicated that Arrighetti has a rotation spot for 2026 locked up.
