The Phillies got to Tong quickly Sunday, scoring twice in the opening inning and twice in the third. Since returning to New York's rotation earlier this month, Tong's given up nine runs (eight earned) on 13 hits while striking out 18 over three starts (15.2 innings). The right-hander lines up for one more start this season, tentatively scheduled to come on the road next weekend against the Nationals.

Cristopher Sanchez SP | PHI
Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Rebounds for 18th win
Sanchez (18-6) earned the win Sunday over the Mets, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks across 6.1 innings. He struck out six.
It was a nice return to form for Sanchez, who had given up 11 runs across 12.1 innings in his previous two outings. The southpaw blanked the Mets for five innings Sunday before giving up a solo home run to Bo Bichette in the sixth. Overall, Sanchez sports a 2.93 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP and a career-high 221 strikeouts across 32 starts (200 innings) this year. Roki Sasaki SP | LAD
Dodgers' Roki Sasaki: Expected to be activated Tuesday
Sasaki (finger) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to pitch in Tuesday's contest against San Diego, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Sasaki has been shelved since developing a blister on his right middle finger Aug. 26 against Atlanta. Manager Dave Roberts noted that the right-hander will pitch in some capacity as a part of a bullpen game in the series opener versus the Padres, but Sasaki won't be the "bulk" pitcher.

Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Nolan Arenado: Flips game with grand slam
Arenado went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's 8-4 win over the Yankees.
The Yankees put up a four spot in the third inning, but Arenado's slam in the fifth canceled it out. The Diamondbacks were able to hang on from there. Over his last 13 games, Arenado has gone 18-for-46 (.391) with six homers and 13 RBI. He is now batting .247 with a .777 OPS, 27 homers, 78 RBI, 73 runs scored, 23 doubles, one triple and four stolen bases through 146 contests this season.

Corbin Burnes SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Corbin Burnes: Quick hook in no-decision
Burnes allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 2.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Yankees on Sunday.
Burnes served up three home runs during the third inning, prompting an early exit as the Diamondbacks can't afford to cede ground since they lag behind in the playoff race. Over his three starts so far, Burnes has surrendered nine runs across 10.1 innings with an 8:4 K:BB. He's now been tagged for five runs, and it's clear he's still got some more rust to shake off following his return from June 2025 Tommy John surgery. Burnes is tentatively projected to make his last start of the regular season at San Diego.

Andy Pages CF | LAD
Dodgers' Andy Pages: Expected to be activated Tuesday
Pages (hand) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
Pages will make his return to the Dodgers after missing more than a month of action while recovering from surgery to address a left hand fracture. Once activated, Pages will likely take over as the Dodgers' everyday center fielder, pushing Tommy Edman back to second base and Alex Freeland into a bench role.

Javier Sanoja 3B | MIA
Marlins' Javier Sanoja: Goes yard in loss
Sanoja went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Padres.
Sanoja's seventh-inning blast off Walker Buehler at least made the Marlins look competitive in a game during which they had just four hits as a team. Over 18 games in September, Sanoja has gone 25-for-72 (.347) with 10 extra-base hits and 16 RBI. He's batting .291 with a .784 OPS, 10 homers, 67 RBI, 49 runs scored, 31 doubles, five triples and 11 stolen bases over 138 contests in a breakout year in 2026.

Sandy Alcantara SP | MIA
Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Handed 11th loss
Alcantara (13-11) allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three over six innings to take the loss versus the Padres on Sunday.
After a midweek cameo as a closer, Alcantara was back in his usual starting role Sunday. It went about as well as his last few starts, which is to say not that well at all. He's given up at least four runs over each of his last five starts, allowing 23 runs across 27.1 innings in that span. Alcantara is at a 3.91 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 152:59 K:BB through 212 innings over 34 games (33 starts) this season. The Miami ace is projected for one more start this year, which is expected to be at home versus Atlanta.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD

Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-3 win over the Marlins.
Bogaerts is batting .317 (19-for-60) over 17 contests in September, adding six extra-base hits and four steals. The shortstop has a career-high 22 steals on 23 attempts this season, as speed has been a larger part of his game during his four years with the Padres. Things haven't gone as well for the rest of his offensive profile, as he's batting .229 with a .667 OPS, 12 home runs, 56 RBI, 65 runs scored, 18 doubles and a triple over 148 games this season.
