Hauser (rest) is out for Thursday's preseason game against the Cavaliers, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
The Celtics are resting several players ahead of this preseason game, and that includes Hauser, who's expected to have a sizable role in the rotation this season. His next chance to play will come against the 76ers on Saturday.
