Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Cameron Payne stands out among top Week 19 waiver-wire targets
These waiver wire targets could help you in Week 19

All-Star weekend has come and gone and the NBA will resume its regular season on Thursday. Fantasy managers have had some time to relax without setting their daily lineups, but recent news can still help them gain an edge over the break. Chris Paul's injury has made one waiver-wire target especially enticing. We'll go over why he and two other players should be priority targets ahead of Week 19's start below.
Here are three Week 19 waiver-wire targets with rostership close to 50 percent or less in CBS leagues:
Brandon Clarke, F, MEM (53% rostered)
Clarke has maintained some of the success he found when Steven Adams was out of commission earlier this year. The Grizzlies' backup center has averaged 14 points and 7.9 rebounds per game through seven February appearances. Clarke has shot a ridiculous 65.9 percent from the field over the past two months, making him a catch in points and Roto leagues.
Cameron Payne, G, PHO (52% rostered)
Payne's rostership was under 10 percent earlier this week, but Chris Paul's thumb injury has caused the backup point guard's Fantasy value to skyrocket over the past few days. The crafty left-hander totaled 19 points, six assists, and four rebounds in his lone start for the Suns this season. He's also averaging a career-high 18.5 points per 36 minutes this season. If you need help at guard, Payne is one of the best options you can pursue.
Cam Thomas, G, Nets (51% rostered)
The Nets are short on wings following James Harden's move to Philly. Thomas has taken on a larger offensive role since the trade deadline. The rookie has averaged 20.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game over his past five outings and will be important to Brooklyn while Kyrie Irving's vaccination status affects his availability. Thomas might not be a viable long-term add with Goran Dragic and Ben Simmons working toward Nets' debuts, but he can provide short-term support in the immediate future.
