OG Anunoby PF | NY
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Signs of rust in season opener
Anunoby finished with 10 points (3-12 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 106-100 loss to the 76ers.
While Anunoby did manage to score in double digits, he looked to be a bit rusty shooting the ball in his season debut. The forward has shot at least 47 percent from the field and 37 percent from beyond the arc in four consecutive seasons, so Anunoby should find a rhythm before long.

Josh Hart SF | NY
Knicks' Josh Hart: Fills box score Tuesday
Hart registered 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 30 minutes during Tuesday's 106-100 loss to the 76ers.
Hart chipped in a full stat line in his season debut Tuesday, also scoring a fairly efficient 14 points. The swingman battled ankle soreness at the end of the preseason but looked no worse for wear on the floor, as his 30 minutes were right on par with last season's typical workload.

Jalen Brunson PG | NY
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Team-high 21 points in loss
Brunson ended Tuesday's 106-100 loss to the 76ers with 21 points (6-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT), five rebounds and three assists across 34 minutes.
Brunson set the pace in scoring for the defending-champion Knicks on Opening Night, also turning in a perfect performance from the charity stripe. The superstar point guard is locked in as New York's top scoring option this year, having averaged at least 26 points per game in three straight seasons.

Karl-Anthony Towns C | NY
Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Overcomes foul trouble Tuesday
Towns ended with 19 points (6-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks over 24 minutes in Tuesday's 106-100 loss to Philadelphia.
Towns found himself in early foul trouble on Opening Night. As a result, he would finish the first half with just five points in six minutes of work. It was a different story in the second half, with the 30-year-old veteran amassing 14 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter. It wasn't a perfect game from Towns, who could be entering his final year as a Knick. Still, he began the year with a double-double, and while he also had issues taking care of the ball, it was a good start to the 2026-27 campaign.

Tyrese Maxey PG | PHI
76ers' Tyrese Maxey: Paces Philadelphia in regular-season opener
Maxey amassed 28 points (9-19 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five assists, four rebounds, three steals and three blocks across 40 minutes in Tuesday's 106-100 win over the Knicks.
Maxey struggled from three-point range but got to the charity stripe often and dropped a game-high 28 points against the defending champions. The star point guard contributed across the stat sheet, especially on the defensive end, leading all players in steals while tying for the game-high mark in blocks. The 25-year-old could dish out fewer assists alongside LeBron James and Jaylen Brown this season, though Maxey should remain one of the team's top offensive options.

Ajay Mitchell SG | OKC
Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Not starting Tuesday
Mitchell won't start Tuesday's game against the Spurs, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
Mitchell got the starting nod in Thursday's preseason finale, though Cason Wallace is back in action and starting Tuesday's regular-season opener. Mitchell should play a sizable role for Oklahoma City this season after averaging 13.6 points, 3.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 25.8 minutes per game across 57 regular-season appearances (16 starts) in the 2025-26 campaign.

Jett Howard SG | DAL
Mavericks' Jett Howard: Questionable to face Houston
Howard (calf) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Rockets.
Howard wasn't included on Dallas' initial injury report, though he's now in jeopardy of sitting out the team's regular-season opener due to right calf tightness. However, the two-way player's absence wouldn't cause any waves in the rotation.

Oso Ighodaro C | PHO
Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Not listed on injury report
Ighodaro (hip) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's regular-season opener in Portland.
Ighodaro missed Phoenix's preseason finale with some hip soreness, but he was never in any danger of sitting out the regular-season opener. Head coach Jordan Ott has not yet revealed who will start at center for the Suns on Opening Night, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Ighodaro and Khaman Maluach move in and out of the first unit throughout the season based on the matchup.

Luke Kennard SG | PHO
Suns' Luke Kennard: Questionable to play Wednesday
Kennard (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against Portland.
Kennard began experiencing knee soreness near the end of the preseason. While the sharpshooter has been increasing his activity level in recent practices, he may need to miss a game or two to begin the 2026-27 campaign. If that's the case, Jordan Goodwin could see more minutes.
