Ward intends to sign a three-year deal worth up $42 million with the 49ers once the new league year starts March 16, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Ward spent the first four seasons of his career in Kansas City, where he proved to be a valuable member of the team's secondary. He racked up 67 tackles, 10 passes defended and two interceptions across 13 games in 2021 and now will join Ambry Thomas and Emmanuel Moseley to form a strong back end of the defense in San Francisco.
