Dynasty Fantasy Football Trade Chart: Kyle Pitts and Derrick Henry rankings become focus for critics
Updating our Dynasty trade chart after a busy two weeks of free agency

After an absolutely bonkers couple of weeks in the NFL "offseason," it seemed like a good time to update the Dynasty trade chart. Of course, it's also maybe the worst time because I think everyone's head is still spinning trying to process Tyreek Hill in Miami, Davante Adams in Las Vegas, Russell Wilson in Denver and so much more. But hey, that's what I'm here for, right?
If you want analysis of those moves, I got to a lot of them in the position ranking updates, which were all updated on March 21 and 22.
Here, before we get to the actual chart, I want to talk about a few things that stood out to me, and maybe cut off a couple of complaints I expect are coming.
First, it's kind of startling to see the gap between the top three and everyone else. Then again, Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson, and Ja'Marr Chase have all shown league-winning ability, have very few questions about their short-term future, and should be on average-at-worst offenses in 2022. In fact, they're all top five at their position in my re-draft rankings and they're amongst the youngest at their position. It is truly rare to see that combination.
Two players who show how rare that is also lead to a lot of the criticism when it comes to these rankings: Kyle Pitts and Derrick Henry.
Most feedback I get on Pitts suggests he should be valued as a first-round pick, possibly as high as No. 2 overall, and there are very smart people saying this, I'm not saying they're wrong, and I would maybe even agree if you're a rebuilding team. But in 2022, with Marcus Mariota at quarterback, I have little confidence Pitts is going to be more than a middling starting tight end in Fantasy. The Falcons right now look like the worst offense in the NFL and there is no one to take any attention away from their star tight end.
On the flip side, when I suggest that teams that are not true contenders should ship Henry for a first-round pick, I hear about how he's basically been the best running back in the NFL the past two seasons. And they aren't wrong either. Only Christian McCaffrey has been more impactful per game and McCaffrey has missed significantly more time. Henry has every argument to be the first or second overall pick in re-draft. But Henry will be 28 years old at the start of the season and just missed half the season with a foot injury. He is one major injury away from complete disaster in Fantasy Football.
Such is the oddity of a trade chart designed to rank both players for all teams.
As a reminder, if you're a contender, you should value current top-12 skill position players higher than this chart does. If you're a rebuilder, you should value youth and draft picks more than this chart does. If you aren't sure which you are, you need to figure that out before you make any trades, and then build hard in that direction. The worst place in a Dynasty league is 7th place, not last.
Also, this chart is based on one-QB leagues, but boost QBs about 20-22 points for Superflex or 2QB leagues. It's also based on PPR leagues where you start two running backs, three wide receivers, and a flex. Adjust if your league settings are different. And, as always, hit me up on Twitter with your trade questions. They may even make it into our next Dynasty mailbag (coming next week!).
Finally, one plus one does not equal two. Not in Fantasy Football trades. A two-for-one trade should include a 10% kicker for the team giving up the best player. Make it 20% for a three-for-one deal. And don't entertain anything more than that unless you're getting close to double the value.
