J.J. Nelson: Receives injury settlement

The 49ers cut Nelson (knee) with an injury settlement Sunday, Kyle Madson of USA Today reports.

Nelson linked up with the 49ers mid-August, but he quickly suffered a knee injury that carried a recovery timetable between two weeks and a month. The team placed him on IR, but now having received an injury settlement, the speedy wideout will be free to sign with another organization as soon as he's fully healthy.
