Collins (foot) was released without an injury designation Wednesday, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.

Collins, who is designated as a post-June 1 cut, will enter free agency at full health after having missed the last three games of the 2021 season due to a foot injury. The 28-year-old's release saves Washington roughly $6.5 million in cap space. After transitioning to a hybrid linebacker/safety role last season, Collins will now need to seek out an opportunity with another franchise.
