Patterson is expected to serve as the Lions' kicker Thursday against the Bears after Aldrick Rosas wasn't elevated from the practice squad Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Patterson was signed off the Patriots' practice squad Nov. 16, but he was inactive for the Lions' loss to the Browns in Week 11 while Rosas handled kicking duties. Despite Rosas hitting his only field-goal attempt in that game, he reverted to the practice squad following the contest and will stay there for now. Rosa's reversion leaves Patterson as the only kicker on the active roster, so he'll be in line to make his NFL debut Week 12.
