Lowry (pectoral) was released by the Vikings on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Lowry joined Minnesota on a two-year deal last spring and was unable to make an impact with his new team. The Northwestern product appeared in nine games before suffering a torn pectoral muscle, which ended his season early, and recorded 14 combined tackles and a pass defended.
