Coyotes' Nick Schmaltz: Facing extended absence

Schmaltz has already missed three games due to the injury, which could keep him out until late November. The 25-year-old has struggled with just one assist and a minus-8 rating in six contests, but his two-way play makes him a big loss to a Coyotes team short on scoring talent.
