Svechnikov scored twice and added an assist in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Islanders. He also had four shots and two PIM.

The 21-year-old standout was a force for Carolina, getting the Hurricanes on the board on a deflection midway through the first period, then icing the game with an empty-netter on the power play in the final minute of the third. He also picked up an assist on Teuvo Teravainen's tally with the man advantage earlier in the third. Svechnikov is already in his fourth NHL season, having scored 59 goals in 205 games entering 2021-22.
