Mermis was recalled from AHL Toronto on Friday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Mermis was left off the Maple Leafs' Opening Night roster for the 2026-27 campaign, and he's recorded no goals, an assist and two PIM across his first seven regular-season appearances with the Marlies this year. He'll provide additional depth on the Maple Leafs' blue line since Marshall Rifai (lower body) and Nick Blankenburg (undisclosed) were placed on injured reserve Friday.
