Pontus Aberg: Put on unconditional waivers

Aberg was put on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract Sunday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.

Aberg plans on signing with a European team after his contract with the Senators is officially terminated. The 28-year-old forward may spend the rest of his playing career overseas. If that ends up being the case, he'll finish his NHL playing days having totaled 17 goals and 44 points in 132 career appearances.
