Mark Jankowski C | CAR
Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Stays hot in Saturday's win
Jankowski scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Jets.
The 32-year-old center continued his remarkable run, getting Carolina on the board midway through the second period with a quick shot through traffic past Clay Stevenson. Jankowski has found the back of the net in six straight games -- not bad for a bottom-six player who scored a grand total of 11 goals over 68 regular-season games in 2025-26. Saturday's tally was also Jankowski's first power-play goal since 2017-18 with the Flames, and just the third of his career. He is getting extra shifts and opportunities with Jordan Staal (calf) on the shelf, but shooting at a 40.0 percent rate simply isn't sustainable.

Kent Johnson C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Kent Johnson: Nets overtime winner
Johnson scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 1-0 overtime win over the Rangers.
Johnson has scored in three consecutive games, bringing his season total to a team-leading four goals, and he's cracked the scoresheet in all but one of his six appearances to date. The 24-year-old winger is enjoying an excellent start to the season, and while this scoring pace is unsustainable, his numbers and overall involvement on offense have been encouraging for fantasy managers. Set in the first line on both even-strength and power-play situations, Johnson should continue to have ample opportunities to keep scoring.

Tage Thompson C | BUF
Sabres' Tage Thompson: Scores vs. Montreal
Thompson scored a goal on five shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Thompson tied the game midway through the third period with his fifth goal of the season, extending his productive start to the campaign. The 28-year-old center has been a consistent shooting threat, taking at least five shots in five of his nine games and at least four in all but two. With nine points in nine games to start the season (five goals, four assists), he should continue to drive the Sabres' offense while offering an excellent fantasy floor due to his scoring prowess, playmaking ability and high shot totals.

Josh Norris C | BUF
Sabres' Josh Norris: Scores in OT loss Saturday
Norris scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canadiens. He also added a hit and two blocked shots.
Norris opened the scoring with his second goal of the season, and now he's found the back of the net in two of the Habs' last three games. However, he logged just 14:30 of ice time and received only 44 seconds of power-play time, limiting his opportunities to contribute offensively. His recent scoring is encouraging, but the relatively modest workload could restrict his fantasy ceiling unless he starts to see more playing time on a regular basis. With just three points in Montreal's first nine games and currently skating as a bottom-six forward, however, Norris doesn't have a ton of upside outside of the deepest formats or the leagues that reward physical stats such as hits and blocked shots.

Emmitt Finnie C | DET
Red Wings' Emmitt Finnie: Goal and assist in comeback victory
Finnie scored an even-strength goal on six shots and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Sharks.
Finnie enjoyed one of Detroit's strongest offensive performances, leading the team with six shots while contributing to two of its three regulation goals. While he has five points this season, four of them have come in the last three games, which means he's moving in the right direction. Finnie should continue to earn opportunities to produce as long as he skates as a top-six forward. He's currently doing so on the first line next to Alex DeBrincat and Michael Brandsegg-Nygard.

Macklin Celebrini C | SJ
Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Three-point effort in shootout loss
Celebrini scored a goal on seven shots and added two power-play assists in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Red Wings.
Celebrini continues to drive San Jose's offense, contributing to all three of the Sharks' goals. The young center also logged 26:54 of ice time, including 8:24 on the power play, reinforcing his status as the team's offensive centerpiece. His combination of heavy usage, substantial shot volume, and consistent scoring opportunities gives him an exceptionally high fantasy ceiling, as shown by his 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in six appearances in 2026-27.

Leon Draisaitl C | EDM
Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Produces pair of points
Draisaitl scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-4 in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Mammoth.
Draisaitl has scored in three straight games, and he's added two assists in that span. The 30-year-old is still ceding the spotlight to Connor McDavid, but both forwards have thrived on a line together to start the year. Through eight outings, Draisaitl has six goals, eight helpers, 28 shots on net and a plus-15 rating.

Connor McDavid C | EDM
Oilers' Connor McDavid: Dominates in win over Mammoth
McDavid scored twice, added three assists and went plus-4 in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Mammoth.
Utah limited McDavid to a helper Thursday in Edmonton, but he put on a show in the road rematch in Salt Lake City. Over eight contests this season, McDavid has yet to be held scoreless. He has six goals, 17 assists, 18 shots on net, 11 hits and a plus-19 rating from his usual top-line role. McDavid's 17 helpers matched a record shared by Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky for the most assists through a player's first eight games of the season, per Gerry Moddejonge of NHL.com. McDavid is an elite talent in one of the best stretches of his career -- enjoy the moment.

Tommy Novak C | PIT
Penguins' Thomas Novak: Deals two helpers in loss
Novak supplied two assists, including one on the power play, in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Novak snapped a four-game point drought with this performance. The 29-year-old center continues to feature on the Penguins' second line, a spot that should lead to more productive stretches. He has three goals, four assists, 15 shots on net, eight blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over nine appearances this season. He's earned three of his helpers on the power play.
-
Evgeni Malkin C | PIT
Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Bags another goal
Malkin scored a goal on two shots and went minus-2 in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Malkin has scored in consecutive contests, accounting for half of the Penguins' goals in that span. The 40-year-old forward is up to five goals, two assists, 20 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through nine appearances this season. Malkin's spot on the Penguins' second line is safe, and he's showing he can still be productive in his 21st campaign.
