  • Ville Husso G | ANA

Ducks' Ville Husso: Surrenders five goals Thursday

Husso stopped 32 of 37 shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders.

Husso allowed three goals in the first period alone, which would be too steep a deficit for Anaheim's offense to overcome before he surrendered two more tallies in the third. With the loss, the 30-year-old netminder now has a 5-3-0 record with a 3.16 GAA and an .888 save percentage through eight appearances this season. With starting netminder Lukas Dostal (upper-body) potentially near a return, Husso would be ushered to the backup role. Husso has been inconsistent between the pipes thus far, making him tough to trust in all fantasy formats moving forward. If Dostal remains sidelined, Anaheim would likely turn to Husso for the team's game Saturday in New Jersey.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Clear for backup duties

Wedgewood (back) will serve as the backup goalie in Thursday's game versus the Panthers, per the NHL media site.

Wedgewood was dealing with a tight back after getting hit during Tuesday's shootout versus the Predators. He was initially pulled by the concussion spotter but was able to clear protocol with no issues. Wedgewood will be on the bench Thursday but should be able to start as soon as Saturday's game versus the Predators.

  • Cam Talbot G | DET

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Tending twine in Edmonton

Talbot will start on the road versus the Oilers on Thursday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Talbot is 0-2-2 with 16 goals allowed over his last four games. That skid has allowed John Gibson to claim a larger share of playing time recently. Talbot will have a tough time ending his skid against the Oilers, who have 18 goals over their last three games.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Set to face Nashville

Binnington is expected to start on the road against Nashville on Thursday, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Binnington has surrendered at least three goals in four of his past five outings, going 2-2-1 across that span. He's now 7-7-5 with a 3.29 GAA and an .876 save percentage in 20 appearances this season. Nashville ranks 28th in goals per game with 2.62.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: In goal at home Thursday

Saros will guard the home goal versus the Blues on Thursday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Saros is set for his fifth straight start. He has gone 3-1-0 with 11 goals allowed on 139 shots over his last four outings. That's a big improvement compared to where he was at early in the year. The Blues have scored just 12 goals over their last six games, though they've managed a 3-3-0 record in that span.

  • Ville Husso G | ANA

Ducks' Ville Husso: Expected to start Thursday

Husso is set to start on the road against the Islanders on Thursday, per Andrew Gross of Newsday.

Husso has won three straight starts while turning aside 81 of 88 shots (.920 save percentage). He's improved to 5-2-0 with a 2.83 GAA and an .893 save percentage through seven appearances this year. The Islanders are tied for 20th in goals per game with 2.90.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: Starting versus Ducks

Rittich will guard the home goal versus the Ducks on Thursday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Rittich will make his second start in three games. The Ducks are an intimidating opponent, having scored 19 goals over their last five contests while going 4-1-0 in that span. With Rittich making this start, Ilya Sorokin should be expected to face the Lightning on Saturday.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Guarding goal in New Jersey

Johansson will protect the road goal versus the Devils on Thursday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Johansson has allowed just seven goals over his last four games, but he's unfortunate to be 1-3-0 in that span. He snapped his losing streak with a 26-save effort in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens. Johansson continues to see a hefty workload due to Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) being sidelined, though Encina reports Vasilevskiy is still considered to be in the day-to-day range.

  • Panthers' Daniil Tarasov: Slated to start Thursday

Tarasov is expected to start on the road against Colorado on Thursday, per George Richards of Florida Hockey Now.

Tarasov has a 3-4-1 record, 2.47 GAA and .911 save percentage in nine appearances with Florida in 2025-26. He stopped 20 of 21 shots en route to a 4-1 victory over the Islanders in his last start Sunday. Utah is in a four-way tie for 15th in goals per game with 3.00.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: First goalie off Thursday

Lyon was the first goalie off during Thursday's morning skate, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against Vancouver.

Lyon was in the starter's crease during Thursday's morning skate, and although he briefly left the ice with an apparent injury, he returned shortly later and should serve as the starting netminder against Vancouver. The Canucks are scoring 2.77 goals per game this season, which is tied for the eighth-worst mark in the league.
