Report: Floyd Mayweather's Fight of Century earnings to hit $220 million
Floyd Mayweather is going to make a lot of money for just one night of work.

The total value of Aaron Rodgers' contract to play quarterback with the Green Bay Packers is worth up to $110 million. Of that total, Rodgers is fully guaranteed to see only $54 million. I say "only" because when comparing how much money Rodgers is making over the course of several seasons to how much money Floyd Mayweather Jr. earned for fighting Manny Pacquiao in May, well, let's just say it's not much of a comparison.
According to a report published by ESPN, Mayweather is set to bring in somewhere between $220 million and $230 million -- all for just participating in the Fight of the Century. Mayweather's opponent in the fight, Manny Pacquiao, won't come off too poorly either. Pacquiao is set to earn somewhere around $150 million, despite losing handedly to Mayweather.
The reason why the numbers aren't yet final and why they came from a source is because the pay-per-view numbers still aren't entirely accounted for. Still, it's widely known that the Fight of the Century was the most lucrative fight ever, raking in almost $600 million total.
Mayweather will also be in better financial shape than Pacquiao, who only gets 40 percent of the split, because Mayweather doesn't have to pay a promoter like how Pacquiao has to pay Bob Arum and Top Rank. Mayweather is the owner of his own promotional company.
Both Mayweather and Pacquiao should be just fine financially. Mayweather was Forbes' highest paid athlete in the past year and Pacquiao placed second.
It looks like Rodgers picked the wrong sport. Though, if his abilities with a sword are any indication, he might want to try his hand at boxing next.
