The National High School Invitational had a profound effect on this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school baseball rankings, as four teams dropped out and tournament champion Stoneman Douglas (Parkland, Fla.) jumped to No. 3.

The Eagles ended the reign of three-time NHSI champion Orange Lutheran in the semifinals. The Lancers had won three straight NHSI championships (2017-19) and had not lost a game in the tournament since 2014. Orange Lutheran had won 15 straight tournament games, including two in 2022, before falling to Stoneman Douglas, 11-0. The loss was also the most lopsided loss for a Lancers team since a 13-2 loss to Mira Costa on April 4, 2011.
