Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez said he would be ready to play Friday, but his manager sounds less optimistic.

Gonzalez left Wednesday's game with a neck injury, and is considered day to day. Gonzalez seemed to think he would be fine after a day off Thursday. Manager Don Mattingly disagreed, saying he was sure Gonzalez's injury is "not going to be good." Mattingly said he expects Gonzalez to avoid the disabled list.
