Failed OF Hanley Ramirez to play only 1B upon his return

The failed experiment of playing Red Sox slugger Hanley Ramirez in left field is over. He will play only first base upon his return from injury, MLB.com has reported.

Ramirez has been a disaster in the outfield and, to a lesser extent, at the plate with an on-base percentage of .291, easily the worst of his career.

A sore shoulder has kept Ramirez out of the lineup since last Wednesday. It remains to be seen when he is able to return.
